The Papyri

Blog & Articles

Where the daily reading is brief, the Papyri are the long scrolls — essays, histories, and teachings written in Ra's hand. This is the Temple's living library, and the light the Sun casts so new readers can find the gate.

The Guardian Who Buries the Ball

When the Guardian of the Mound drives the ball into the earth, the Warriors of the Bat lose their sky. Here is the cause — and the effect.

A ground-ball arm does not chase the strikeout. It commands the ball downward, into the dust, where gloves wait. Set such a Guardian in a small park, where the high ball would otherwise fly into the seats, and the Warriors are left swinging at a sky that no longer rewards them. The Contest narrows. The runs dry. This is not fortune — it is the shape of the ground meeting the shape of the arm.

The reading descends each dawn within the Temple.
